Life has been good and normal. I joined my Photography Club to a 2 day 1 night trip to a place called 'Turtle Bay' last month. It was a memorable outing. (that somehow sounded like an understatement). The chalet was nice, the bbq night was fun, the photo-taking sessions was awesome, and most of all,the friends we made and the company we had was and still is great
One week after that, I was recruited to join the Uni's Community Service. I was to teach english along with some other (well, all of the other participants are my seniors) students. I think I was the only foundation student amongst the degree students. (which made me a bit anxious to socialize) It was a 2 day 2 night trip and every aspect of the trip was financially sponsored by the University themselves
What a world we live in.
Oh, and another thing, (which is the most important of them all).
Today, all muslims in the world will be celebrating the Holy month called the Month of Ramadhan, including myself. Ramadhan is the month on which we will all fast from dawn till dusk, do prayers in groups (jemaah) in our mosque and do good deeds as the holy month is when prayers/good deeds are multiplied by more than any normal months. It is also the month when Satan will be locked up in order to stop us from any temptations. The reason why we fast is to understand the and to share the experience of people who do not have the privilege to eat (in other words, the poor people who only eats about once a day.) and to test our faith and prove how strong it is to God. It is also the month in which doing good deeds such as giving the Zakat ( a sum of money to poor people or orphans) and other social deeds will be highly rewarded and counted by God during judgement day. Yes we fast as in not eating or drinking anything but only from dawn till dusk. Before dawn we are compulsory to eat (Islamic term is called 'Sahur') as it is the only meal of the day that will supply us with energy. After sunset then we will break our fast. In Malaysia, Ramadhan is also the best time to do business as we will usually buy food from food bazaars and buy honey, fruits, and dates as our meal appetizer. so yeah , its a win-win situation for both supplier and consumer
I am honestly so happy that we'll be fasting
I know this issue is not familiar (as muslims are almost 100% linked to just one word : Terrorism). But I prefer to look at the positive and spread goodness and true information of my religion because there is soooo much more to us than what you claimed to know or heard or seen.
I don't judge people of other faith or those who have none. (Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Scientologists, or even atheists) , I just want to focus on my own religion which is Islam. If you want to judge the religion, read and understand our Holy Book that has no alteration made by any party , it is called (The 'Quran', not Koran.) and this should be no surprise, that you can't judge 1.5 billion muslims just from a few thousands of extremists who uses religion as an excuse for political power. We live in a world where there are no borders (well, except for North Korea. pfft) , so therefore if you want to know who we are, then learn to live in our shoes.
So hope this update is enough to cover the last 2 months of my disappearance lol. Hope you can understand the story like it is and ask me anything if you want to know more.
Take care and have a good night/day!
xoxo
